Bang With Friends, the popular app that helps facilitate one-night stands with your Facebook friends, is reportedly raising a ~$1 million seed round, according to Business Insider. The app was a hit at SXSW, where Betabeat cornered its anonymous blonde cofounder and forced him to eat grilled cheese with us.

Bangs With Friends collects photos of your Facebook friends into an easily browsable stream. When you see one you'd totally do, you hit "Down to Bang." If the person reciprocates your feelings, you'll get a notification that they're also down to bang--no flirting or drink buying required. Last month, when we spoke with the BWF cofounder, he said 750,000 users have hit the “down to bang” button 16 million times.

That number is expected to grow--Business Insider says it's already ballooned to 820,000 users--which explains why investors are reportedly clamoring to fund the sex app. Business Insider reports that Tim Draper and Great Oaks Venture Capital have already invested, and the company is looking to take on more investors to reach its ~$1 million goal.

Of course, BWF isn't exactly the next Google: other investor sources also told Business Insider that the round is "curious" and "kinda stupid." We assume they just have a poor "Bangability" quotient.

Remember how, once a year, your high school's assistant principal and algebra teacher and the starting quarterback would all gamely appear in a student-made video, usually to celebrate Homecoming?

You probably won't be surprised to see a similar phenomenon in Silicon Valley. 

The team at content discovery startup Undrip has made a new music video called "Lucky Ones," which is "dedicated to the people who fight every day in the trenches of entrepreneurship." And they roped some big names into participating. Featured: Alexis Ohanian in a Hipmunk hoodie, Robert Scoble boogieing in front of a Rackspace logo and, best of all, VC Tim Draper wearing a pink polka-dotted tie and dancing in a parking lot.

He lip-syncs to the line, "Waiting for their chance to come up like a pop tart," then illustrates the point by popping out of a car door.

The video is part of a campaign to raise money for small businesses hit by Hurricane Sandy, starting with three in particular: Staten Island's Not Just Bagels, Rockaway Beach-based Bungalow Bar and Restaurant, and Jersey Shore Apparel.

Apparently something's up over at Techstars alum Shelby.TV. Cofounder Reece Pacheco just emailed Betabeat to say that the team would be shutting down the current iteration of Shelby in order to focus on rebuilding the product.

"It's no secret that we're building a new version of Shelby, rebuilt from the ground up, but we're going to shut down the current version in the interim," he wrote. "No big deal really, just a matter of focusing on one product at a time."

According to a blog post published on Shelby.TV's site, the team is working on rebuilding the backend entirely. "To be clear, this isn’t just an update. This is an entirely new build, freshly coded from the ground up," it reads.

The rebuild will help make room for the following features:

• Speed. Shelby’s faster every step of the way.
• Discovery. Better processing power means more videos.
• Community. More ways to connect, share, and curate.

Shelby.TV has seen its fair share of pivots. Reigning King of the Internet Mr. Pacheco entered the TechStars 2011 program with a different idea altogether: a sports-focused app named Homefield which TechStars mentors suggested he scrap in order to begin anew with a concept that was more scalable. That decision led e and his partner Dan Spinosa to Shelby.TV, a video sharing and discovery platform that includes integration with iPhone and iPad.

Shelby has garnered Mr. Pacheco and Mr. Spinosa a fair amount of attention in Startupland. It was named one of the Top Buzziest Brands at SXSW and the duo has raised a total of $1.725 million from investors like Avalon Ventures and Tim Draper.

This move doesn't sound like a complete pivot for Shelby, but instead a move to build a new iteration with better functionality based on user feedback.

Shelby is set to go dark this weekend. "The Chrome Extension, iOS apps, bookmarklet, and weekly emails will also be shut off soon," reads the blog post.

While reading the piece, we found we were at a loss for words. Several frenzied Skype messages were exchanged, each more convoluted than the last. It was best, we finally decided, to communicate in our native language in order to truly do this piece justice: it was best to communicate via GIFs.

Upon seeing the photo, in which Jesse Draper is wearing only one shoe, one Draper son has his collar dramatically popped and Papa Bill looks like a salt-haired version of David Caruso:

"If you're connected to the Draper family, you simply must attend the Valley Girl holiday party, a bat mitzvah-type blowout at Atherton's posh country club, the Menlo Circus Club."

"That's the thing about growing up in Silicon Valley. No one's famous and no one's rich . . . because everyone's famous and everyone's rich," says Anderson. "So no one realizes, Oh, not everyone celebrates ski week?"

"My brother got bored in the middle of an interview with Eric Schmidt and put the camera down on the ground," Jesse says of the show's early days.

His next venture: trying to turn Silicon Valley into its own state. "I've already written up a constitution," he says.
