Jolly Saint Nick is coming early this holiday season in the form of an Uber publicity stunt. Tomorrow, the on-demand private car company is delivering
nondenominational holiday bushes Christmas trees to New Yorkers for $135.
In partnership with the Home Depot, the company will ship out an eight foot Fraser Fir to your apartment “within minutes” of it being ordered. The option will appear as “UberTREE” in the app tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., so may the odds be in your favor.
The gift bag also includes a tree stand and an “Uber gift.” Perhaps a left over kitten?
This probably won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has spent time on leading link aggregator Reddit, but a certain kind of content tends to play well there. One guy apparently decided to see just how easy it might be to purposefully direct Reddit’s traffic firehose toward selected content.
