Ladiesss! Is the idea that the country might careen over the fiscal cliff, thereby increasing your tax bill in 2013, getting you down?

Well, banish any worries about the clowns in our nation's capital from your pretty little head. The Internet, it turns out, has already provided you with a solution. All you have to do is conquer any culturally inculcated resistance to the idea of taking bribes for access to your body and/or companionship. Simple!

SeekingArrangement.com, which bills itself as the Internet's numero uno platform for connecting would-be sugar daddies with would-be sugar babies, has released a YouTube video trumpeting the virtues of "mutually beneficial relationships" as a hedge against national financial troubles. The site will make premium memberships free for "beautiful women" until politicians manage to arrest our flight towards the edge.

"Instead of feeling powerless, attractive women are improving their financial situation by dating successful men," the video smooth-talks the viewer. (No uggos need apply, we suppose.) It goes on to boast that the average male user of SeekingArrangement.com is "39, college educated, and spends over $3,000 a month pampering the woman he is dating."

The scare quotes around "dating" are implied.

Users of the service turned out to provide testimonials in the comments:

this site is no joke. only rich ass mother fuckers, i promise. millionaires and lesser versions but you can get very well taken care of on this site!! I highly recommend.

However, detractors have turned up, as well: "MY EXPERIENCE ON THERE WASNT GREAT CAUSE THE GUY TURNT OUT TO BE A LIER && SOOOOOO..." Your results may vary, in short. If you are, in fact, seriously considering taking SeekingArrangement.com on their offer, you might want to read this NYU Local tell-all.

Personally, we've always been more intrigued by the notion of becoming a financial dominatrix, but this is America and in America, there's nothing we love more than hustle.

There are many important factors to consider when evaluating a potential sugar daddy. Perhaps a less common metric than net worth: Is he a man of faith? If so, which faith?

The personals site SeekingArrangement.com ("The #1 Sugar Daddy Dating Site," they tell us) has released the results of a study on the religious preferences of its population of would-be benefactors. The most common religion: Judaism, clocking in at 28 percent.

Evangelicals were the runners up at 17 percent, with Catholics rounding out the holy trinity at 14 percent. Completing the top five were the catchall "Protestantism" (pretty sure evangelicals still count as Protestants?) and Eastern Orthodox Christianity. It seems men of the Episcopal faith are the least inclined toward a little quid pro quo, composing a mere 1 percent of Seeking Arrangement's sugar daddies. Even Mormon dudes made a better showing, with 2.8 percent.

SeekingArrangement founder and CEO Brandon Wade chimed in on the results:

“We cater to the affluent, and historically, religion has played an important factor in socioeconomic standing.”

Oy vey. Yeah, we're not touching that with a ten-foot pole.

Overall, 88 percent of the site's sugar daddies were willing to check a box identifying themselves with a particular faith and 39 percent “regularly” attend religious services. Makes sense. Their online habits likely require an awful lot of Hail Marys.
