Muslims protested at Google headquarters in London on Sunday, expressing outrage over the search giant's refusal to remove Innocence of Muslims from YouTube.

One of the men behind the event, Masoud Alam, told the Telegraph that there will be more protests "at the offices of Google and YouTube across the world." Muslims wish to ban the film, said Mr. Alam, because it is an "insult of the Prophet."

Some in attendance on Sunday said they want to expand their protests:

Sheikh Siddiqui, a barrister from Nuneaton, said he wanted to form a coalition with the Church of England, Catholics, Jewish groups, Trade Unions and even Conservatives to encourage their ranks to join his "campaign for civility".

"We want everyone in society to recognise these people are wrecking our fragile global society. We want the Church, the Synod, Jewish groups and establishment figures involved," he said.

The Telegraph quoted a YouTube spokesperson, who admitted that the company's efforts to "create a community everyone can enjoy" is challenging, "because what's OK in one country can be offensive elsewhere."

Google and YouTube are holding fast to what they see as a free-speech issue and has clearly stated that they will not remove or block the video in any country where it is considered protected speech.

Muslims have apparently protests online as well. Muslim Cyber Fighters continued a fourth week of well-organized denial of service attacks on American financial institutions last week, taking the websites of Regions, Capital One and SunTrust banks offline for several hours a day.

From these Forbes photos from the scene, it looks like perhaps two dozen women and a few good men showed up at Facebook's Manhattan headquarters yesterday to protest the lack of women on the social network's board. "Women and Facebook: 58% of Users. 0 Board Members," read one sign.

The group was turned away. "The handful of protesters that gathered in front of Facebook’s office on Madison Avenue at noon was disappointed when the company refused to accept a petition signed by 53,000 users asking the company to include women on its board of directors," writes Social Times.

Mark Zuckerberg doesn't even accept meetings with the titans of Wall Street begging to sell his stock for obscene amounts of dollars. As Grandma would say: Bless their hearts. At least it went better than the Apple store protest.

It didn't go so well.

According to Bloomberg—whose headline speaks for itself: Media Outnumber Apple Protesters as Petition by 250,000 Is Delivered—there were more reporters and cameras than anything else, which, on the one hand, is what most protests actually want. On the other, if the number central to the cause is as small as it was "fewer than 10," (The Atlantic Wire pegs it at 4) it's not so effective. Practically, neither is delivering a petition to people at the Genius Bar, who are such geniuses it takes them an hour to determine that one's iPhone is irreparably busted, which is what you told them an hour ago, as opposed to a slightly different (and maybe less media-friendly) setting than, say, a Foxconn factory or Apple HQ.

But they got a bunch of blog posts and writeups out of it, like this one. So there is that.
