Could The Internship–an upcoming comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as two older gents who attempt to land a Google gig–actually be a secret ploy by Google to attract new employees? That's what we're wondering after catching the trailer that just dropped on YouTube. At one point, Owen Wilson says, "We're looking at some sort of mental Hunger Games against a bunch of genius kids for just a handful of jobs." With all the competition for talent, we're pretty sure Google's the one that feels like Katniss, but okay.

We know Google cooperated with the filmmakers, and the snippets we can see in the trailer make the Silicon Valley mothership look practically like a playground. Who wouldn't want to fire off a resume?

We told you this morning that The Internship, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn's new comedy about grown men interning at Google, was looking for some extras--specifically "Asian Stanford students." The tone deaf casting announcement got us a little worried about the future of the film, which will undoubtedly be Oscar material. So we thought we'd put our brains together and see if we couldn't help the two funnymen out. Here are our suggestions for plot improvements to ensure that this film doesn't turn out to be Jack And Jill set in Silicon Valley.

1. A montage of the duo gorging on carefully prepared gourmet meals in the Google cafeteria.

2. A bunch of shots of them going down one of the Google office slides.

3. Someone having to save Vince Vaughn from drowning in the Googleplex's wave pool.

4. Getting drunk, breaking into a server closet and accidentally shutting down Google across the world.

5. Partying at the Stanford frat where Zuck met Kevin Systrom.

6. Owen Wilson gets a summons for Biking Under the Influence while riding a Google bike.

7. Trying to get into Larry Page's rearview Google Glasses mirror before realizing there is no rear view.

8. Vince steals a pair of Google Glasses and Owen steps on them. Hilarity ensues when they use super glue to try and patch them up.

9. Vince Vaughn makes a joke about how nobody uses Google+ and someone in the audience says, "He said the thing we're not supposed to say!" Panic ensues.

10. Marissa Mayer appears in the sky (the "cloud?") as the duo's Mufasa-like mentor.

Want to be in a movie? According to AllThingsD, The Internship--that absurd comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn depicting them as 40-somethings who somehow score internships at Google--has moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for its final weeks of filming. A casting call for extras revealed that they'll be filming today at Stanford and throughout San Francisco next week.

Another casting call is looking for an "Owen Wilson stand in" for The Internship. If you work in the San Francisco area, are 25 to 45 years old, have blond hair and are a little under 6 feet, you can get paid $20/hour for standing around looking like Owen Wilson. Hey, it beats loudly talking about some app you're building in a hip mid-Market coffee shop, hoping some investors with cash to spare might just happen to overhear you.

Would-be actors of Asian descent are also in luck! If by "luck," you mean getting paid $8/hour (literally minimum wage). Betabeat unearthed another casting call, and The Internship is “looking for people to play Asian Stanford Students on Friday, September 14th.”

We really hope this casting call isn't a harbinger of things to come in the film. Furthering rather outdated racial stereotypes about engineers at Stanford is probably a form of "comedy" best relegated to awkward Hacker News commenters.
