Trading in your twin bed for a sleepover-friendly double bed in a childhood rite of passage--one that allows you to stretch out among your pile of big girl CDs, magazines and clothes.

But tweens today may not ever know this meaningful transition, because sales for twin beds are dropping. Instead, kids are demanding double size beds early on so that they can comfortably sprawl out in bed next to their computers.

The Daily Mail reports that single bed sales have fallen by 9 percent as more and more kids are opting for double beds to accomodate their laptop and tablet obsessions.

"As a child, the bedroom was a place for me to sleep, but I think for today's children, the meaning of a bedroom has changed," one researcher told the Mail. "It is where they sleep, but it is also where they interact on their laptops and iPhones and iPads."

Next up: tweens demanding their parents literally spoonfeed them so they don't have to look away from the laptop during dinner time.

When we first caught wind of the fact that Fujitsu had finally, finally answered our prayers and developed the Floral Kiss laptop especially for people with two X chromosomes, we were so ecstatic we engaged in an impromptu pillow fight with our devastatingly beautiful female roommate. It's a well-known fact that lady people don't know how to use a regular computer--all those buttons, amiright?--so it was a total relief to know that there's a company out there that understands that women prefer devices with names that sound like a tampon brand.

Though it does come with preloaded scrapbooking software, a diary and daily horoscopes, we were totally bummed to find out that our kissy-faced new laptop was not designed to meet all of our basic needs, like shopping and spending hours primping in the mirror. In fact, we found a number of things wrong with the Floral Kiss laptop.

1. It doesn't come with a recipe app. What else are we supposed to use this thing for?

2. No automatic option to add our resume to Mitt's binder full of women.

3. Does not 3D-print chocolate.

4. No flashing "slut" lights appear when we navigate to a porn site or Planned Parenthood.

5. It's not actually floral-scented.

6. Calendar feature fails to track PMS levels and synch to husband's smartphone.

7. Doesn't come with spying software that allows your husband to easily check up on your browsing history.

8. Sex and the City is not pre-loaded.

9. Does not come with a camera that makes applying makeup easier.

10. Not enough motherf*cking diamonds.

Yesterday morning, music news outlets across the Internet began reporting that human Girl Talk game Justin Bieber had his laptop and camera stolen at a concert in Washington state. On Wednesday, the Biebs tweeted out to his 29 million followers that his stuff had been ganked from the Tacoma Dome. "yesterday during the show me and my tour manager josh had some stuff stolen. really sucks. people should respect other's property," he lamented. "i had a lot of personal footage on that computer and camera and that is what bothers me the most. #lame #norespect"

Rumors of possible nude pictures existing on the stolen harddrive immediately began swirling. Mr. Bieber tweeted at the alleged thief, a user named gexwy: "@gexwy no matter what you have and what you post tomorrow i know my fans wont leave me. screw it. #toostrong."

Gawker published a link to the alleged nude photo, which was quickly debunked as not belonging to Mr. Bieber because the "bellybuttons didn't match." Teen girls everywhere sobbed silvery, mascara-tainted tears into their Victoria's Secret LOVE hoodies.

But today, Mr. Bieber and his team revealed that they had orchestrated an elaborate hoax on the media and the millions of beliebers out there. They released the video for Mr. Bieber's newest single, which is called "Beauty and the Beat" and features Nicki Minaj At the beginning of the video, the following screen flashes:

You just got trolled by Justin Bieber. And how does that make you feel?

Mr. Bieber's manager Scooter Braun is a known expert media manipulator, having scooped the Biebs up from YouTube obscurity and painstakingly packaged him into the megastar he is today. Plus, with 29 million drooling Twitter followers, it's not like it's difficult to control the message--for better or for worse. How quickly we believed the stolen personal tech tale also speaks to how saturated our culture has become with celebrity hacking.

It all just seemed so... beliebable.

Update: The Daily News reports that Mr. Bieber's camp says his laptop actually was stolen. We just don't know what to belieb anymore.

Of course, DMX does admit understanding how to Google himself on the phone. Perhaps he's just skipped the PC era and leapfrogged us all into the age of mobile?
