back to school
Tech Dirty to Me
It’s back to school, and you know who’s most excited? No, it’s not little Bobbie and Suzie who are ready to start the new year with a clean slate. It’s dads, who are making the best of that blessed hour when the missus is dropping the kids off at school by camming with live models.
A study by cam site Jasmin.com shows that when the world’s dads suddenly find themselves with alone time in the morning, they’ve been showing up in droves to catch up with their favorite models.
Tech Dirty to Me
This column has explored a lot about cam girls — most recently, for instance, I learned that some of them are making around a million bucks a year. But with all this talk about female webcam performers, a number of people have asked me: Are there also webcam boys?
They’re certainly not as numerous as their female counterparts, but yes, male webcam performers exist. After a couple weeks of searching, I managed to track one down. He goes by the name Mike Hard, and he’s a performer on camming site Streamate. He agreed to chat with me about what it’s like to be a cam boy.
Fun With Bitcoins
At the beginning of August, hundreds of fans will pack Miami’s Eden Roc Hotel to meet models with whom they’ve all been intimate, and yet have never actually met beyond the screens of their webcams.
“[They'll] meet the models [they]’ve been chatting to for four years. People could start fainting,” Clinton Cox, the founder of the first annual CammingCon, told me over the phone. “There’s going to be a huge level of nerves… Who knows what the energy’s going to be like? It’s a giant science experiment.”

We know you can use bitcoin to buy booze and breast implants, and you used to be able to use it for drugs. But the three-month-old site Tits For Bitcoin (yup), which lets you trade cryptocurrency for webcam models, is a new one. Too much bitcoin, not enough things to spend it on — apparently, the site’s founder tells us, that’s a problem people have.

The Daily Beast sent one brave reporter to this year’s AVN Awards, the porn industry’s Oscars (or at least its Golden Globes).
All in all, the experience sounded pretty depressing — tipsy porn stars whispering pervy nothings in excitable fans’ ears, shriveling attendance numbers, horrible Holocaust jokes.
But what stuck out to us was one industry insider’s assertion that porn stars as we know them are a thing of the past.
While the bigwigs of Cornell’s NYC Tech program gathered at their temporary digs in the Google HQ to pat each other’s backs, word was spreading about one enterprising cam girl who decided to use Cornell’s Carpenter Engineering Library as a backdrop for a self-made porno.
A tipster sent the video to IvyGate, which was uploaded to Xhamster and posted to Cornell’s forums, EzraHub. The video shows a young blonde woman masturbating; at one point, she angles the computer to show that someone is studying behind her, providing a pretty comprehensive view of the library which IvyGate confirmed is “Carp.”
