A startup that’s looking to disrupt the sneaker game is celebrating the end of its first seed round with $1.5 million.

GREATS sells premium quality sneakers online, starting at $59. Founders Ryan Babenzien and Jon Buscemi have a combined 20 years of design and marketing experience for K-SWISS, Puma, DC Shoes and Gourtmet Brand.

The seed round was led by Resolute Ventures, with High Peaks Venture Partners, Mark Gerson of Gerson Lehrman Group, and NFL player Adrian Wilson of the New England Patriots among the participants.

“We’re incredibly excited to have finished our seed round and get back to doing what we do best; building a brand,” Mr. Babenzien is quoted as saying in a press release.

The startup will use this capital “to scale its vision of offering premium-quality men’s footwear inspired by classic silhouettes for a great value, meet customer demand by scaling inventory, and focus on growth initiatives such as hiring and rolling out new sneaker styles,” a press release said.
