Jesus died for our selfies

NYC Apartment Listing Promises Rooftop Is ‘Perfect For Selfies’

It's a pretty decent selling tactic, tbh.

Renting an apartment to today’s youths poses a unique challenge. It must be close to the subway. It must be bright, and not located in a basement dungeon. Most importantly, it must be great for taking selfies.

At least, that was the thought process behind a recent listing on StreetEasy for an East Village apartment at 269 10th St. After describing the “5 to 10 minute walk from 6 & L trains, Union Square, NYU” and the “Modern kitchen, queen-sized bedroom with large closet & skylight,” the listing says:

“Best kept little secret….Amazing art gallery & views on the rooftop, perfect for photoshoots, selfies or drinks with friends. Easy rent. Agent shows daily. Call or email now to view! No Pets!”

Sure, it sounds ridiculous, but let’s not forget that selfies have become the most popular genre of photo amongst kids these days. And come on, who wants to take pre-going-out selfies in a cramped living room with a nasty futon in the background, when instead you could take them on a sweet roof deck? Something tells us it won’t be long before a lease signing.

In other news, we are now moving. Bye.
