Sure, Google Is Using a Ferry To Shuttle Employees to Work

We're one week away from a Google-owned blimp.

It’s a few bikinis and glasses of champagne short, but it appears Google is very close to recreating the yacht seen in Jay-Z’s Big Pimpin’ music video. KPIX-TV is reporting that Google is operating a catamaran to shuttle employees between San Francisco and Redwood City as another mode of transportation to get people to work.

Dubbed the Triumphant, the privately operated ferry holds 150 partiers Googlers and operates twice in the morning and makes two more trips at night. It’s currently still in the beta phase because Google is searching for different ways to avoid further pissing San Francisco denizens off with its employee bus program.

A spokesman confirmed the program to Recode: “We certainly don’t want to cause any inconvenience to SF residents and we’re trying alternative ways to get Googlers to work.”

The ship isn’t self-driving, but were sure Google is also working on that.
