If you needed another reason not to text and drive, this should do it.

A Maryland woman lost control of her car and plunged into a lake Tuesday because she was distracted on her phone.

The 25-year-old woman was driving her Hyundai in the southern Maryland town of Waldorf when the car veered off the road, slammed into a tree, then dove 60 feet into a lake. WTOP Radio reports that her car was submerged in about five feet of water, but she was able to climb out of her window.

The woman, whose identity wasn’t released, confessed to police that she was texting when her car spun out of control. She had no visible injuries, just a life lesson that texting while driving is never a good idea.
