By 2017, You and a Quarter Billion of Your Closest Friends Will Watch Porn on Mobile Devices

We're still unsure how you navigate it.

By 2017, we’re all going to be constantly watching porn until our eyeballs–among other things–fall out. A new study forecasts that within the next four years, 250 million people are going to be accessing porn on cell phones and tablets presumably until they pass out from exhaustion.

Porn companies are titillated by the fact that smartphones and tablets are their two biggest growth channels and are increasingly creating sexy content that’s enabled for on-the-go viewing. Live cam shows, video and images (no love for GIFs?) are the most popular type of pornos to be viewed on said devices.

Also, more people are gravitating toward having personal tablets rather than shared household devices, so that makes anonymous late-night porn trawling so much easier. Seems just like yesterday we were cleaning out our browser’s history.

But as the sexily titled study (“Mobile Adult Content: Monetisation, Technologies & Legislation 2013 – 2018,”) reveals, it’s not all happy endings. Porn companies are worried about the affects of government-issued web filters, like the one being planed in the U.K., could hurt growth.

And as XBiz writes, this pervy nugget:

The report further found that although network operators throughout Europe routinely block adult content won their cellular networks, most access occurs at WiFi hotspots where default content blocks are not in place.

Eurotrip, anyone?
