Ah, the perfect creation for our unmanned-aerial-vehicle-crazed city: a “Drone It Yourself” kit.

CNET reports that Dutch designer Jasper van Loenen has assembled a briefcase of components (many of them 3D printed) which allows him to craft his own drones on the fly. In this video, he demonstrates assembly with a bicycle wheel, atlas, and shark boogie board. Mr. Van Loenen isn’t selling the kits, but here’s a bill of materials in case you’d like to make your own. Because you just never know when you’ll need one.

We recommend painting a circular piece of cardboard with the Eye of Sauron and floating it over a Sunday school class, just to see what happens. Summer fun!
