When you come across a brilliant, statuesque beauty queen on Tinder, the hot-or-not style dating app, chances are you’ll swipe to the next candidate thinking she’s a fake profile operated by a creepy Redditor. But New York Mag reports that even award-winning pageant ladies occasionally indulge in the experience of casually rating people based on their looks.
As it turns out, Nana Meriwether, who was the reining Miss USA until three weeks ago, is an active Tinder user, and though she still prefers to meet potential matches in person, she’s also not opposed to online dating.
“Mostly I joined because a friend told me to, but I think it could be a great way to meet people, especially in New York City,” Ms. Meriwether told New York Mag. “I think when you’re single, you should try all avenues. And now there are so many new apps for dating — this one is just really fun.”
Ms. Meriwether also insisted she only uses the app when hanging out with friends, and doesn’t just sit alone in her apartment flipping through photos of hot guys.
Haha yeah, who would do that. *gulp*
