Important question: What was your reaction to the critically acclaimed film How to Train Your Dragon? Did you geek out over the animation? Did you take your nephew to see it? Bet ya didn't build a fire-breathing dragon afterwards. Know why? Because you're not this dude, who is much cooler than all of us.

Pittsburgh resident Richard Hamel realized that the remarkably life-like dragon in the film might actually be able to fly. So, having served as a radio-control plane builder, he decided to try and actually build a real life animatronic dragon. And guess what? It worked.

Mr. Hamel built a fully functioning dragon out of a JetCat P80 turbine. The results are awesome. It can fly and breathe fire and scare the crap out of children.

According to Popular Science:

Hamel plans to fly the dragon at air shows and parks, and although he designed it to be intimidating, he’s also concerned for its safety. “I’m worried somebody is going to take a shot at it.”

Stand down, amateur gunmen. Don't you know dragons are an endangered species?
