Oh, so you thought your startup was lean? Indaba Music, a social network where musicians can find each other and collaborate, is about to show you up. After persevering for five years in an apartment on the Bowery, the startup has decided it was time to stop sharing a single bathroom between 23 people. In March, Indaba moved from the Bowery over to fancy Soho and into a brand new office on Broadway occupying the floor above Foursquare.

Indaba moved into the 2,300 square foot loft at 268 Bowery in the summer of 2006, adding three bedrooms and putting up a few whiteboards. The founders started the tradition of Thursday night beers, and, soon, beers on other nights. "We would have these incredible parties because we would work like, 24-seven, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all of our friends would come here as like a central hub," cofounder Dan Zaccagnino says in a video released by the company today. "And it got to the point where literally at 1 o'clock in the morning on random Saturday nights we'd have people just buzz up just expecting that something was going to be going on."

As the company grew, the living room was converted into office space and the bedrooms were converted into conference rooms and recording areas. "After a while it just got too weird to come out and take a shower in the morning," Mr. Zaccagnino said.

PS: Indaba is hiring developers and designers.
