Manhattan has the super-mega-uber-popular NY Tech Meetup (NYTM), Brooklyn / Dumbo has Digital Dumbo (among other things), New Jersey has the fast-growing NJ Tech Meetup... and now, Queens finally gets its very own tech meetup!

The inaugural event is this Thursday at the Hunter's Point Plaza Penthouse. Reddit cofounder (and Y-Combinator East Coast ambassador) Alexis Ohanian will be there. As will Peter Weijmarshausen, the CEO of 3D manufacturing startup Shapeways (which is planning to open a factory in Long Island City) and folks from Songza. So if you're in Queens (or even if you're not), go check it out and help support the tech ecosystem beyond Manhattan into the outer boroughs. And wouldn't it be awesome to see someone take the initiative and start a Bronx Tech Meetup next? :)
