Mr. Kutcher and Mr. Jobs (empireonline.com)

In real life, the actor Ashton Kutcher has made a name for himself by backing several of today's biggest startups--like Airbnb, Foursquare and GroupMe, to name a few--so it's no surprise that he wants to take his tech obsession to the big screen.

Mr. Kutcher will be taking on the role of the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs in an indie biopic. The film, directed by Swing Vote (lol) screenwriter Joshua Michael Stern, will be creatively entitled Jobs, and will focus on the early life of Mr. Jobs, according to Variety. It's set to begin filming in May, and is aiming for a November premiere date, just in time for awards season. By November, Mr. Jobs will have been dead for over a year, which we suppose makes the whole production slightly less tacky. What was that about #noclass?

The Daily posted photos of a young Mr. Jobs and Mr. Kutcher side-by-side, and the two do bear a striking resemblance. If only Mr. Jobs had been known for his Twitter gaffes, the two could be kindred spirits. Mr. Kutcher certainly sees himself that way: Jobs producer Mark Hulme said Mr. Kutcher "believes the role was meant for him."

The good news for Mr. Kutcher is that he's already nabbed the approval of one Apple cofounder: Steve Wozniak, our personal favorite Apple bigwig who is now relegated to waiting in line with the masses for Apple products, told TMZ that Mr. Kutcher will be "great" at the role.

We can only hope Woz will pull a Big Bang Theory and make a Jobs cameo.
