For now, there appear to be no plans to shutter Posterous. "Posterous Spaces will remain up and running without disruption," reads the blog post on the acquisition. "We’ll give users ample notice if we make any changes to the service."

It's unclear how exactly Twitter will incorporate Posterous into its already ailing business model, but we have a feeling that this acquisition will not fare well for Posterous fans.
