Are startups the new boot camp? Today the White House will announce a new initiative called SummerQAmp, a summer internship program for low-income and “disconnected youth” to work at startups around the country, where they will presumably learn discipline, teamwork and real-life skills. “The initiative is being led by musician Jon Bon Jovi, the former White House CTO Aneesh Chopra and executives from GroupMe and Gilt Groupe,” according to a press release. Jason Baptiste of Onswipe will also be participating in a press conference and conference call later today.
