LivePerson, a New York company that powers customer service on the web, is apparently in need of a Chief Technology Officer. A rare breed indeed, it can be difficult to persuade a CTO to join your company. But LivePerson is making a hard pitch with an offer of a $10,000 grant in the name of the CTO to the charity of his or her choice.

“LivePerson will offer the chosen CTO a substantial grant to bestow upon a not-for-profit organization of his/her choice for their technology initiatives – such as revamping a computer lab at an inner city school, a tech-focused social entrepreneurship program, or a charity leveraging technology to better engage their constitutents,” a rep wrote in an email.

The campaign is supposed to reflect LivePerson’s “mission to create lasting, meaningful connections” like the beautiful and everlasting bond brokered with your customer service representative.
