Despite Apple's excessive attempts to make sure customers have a pleasant shopping experience, 83-year-old Forrest Hills resident Evelyn Paswall is suing the company for the terrible fate that befell her at its retail outfit in Manhasset, Long Island when the store's glass wall proved perhaps a little too sleek.

Ms. Paswall, who broke her nose walking smack into the transparent front door, filed a lawsuit for $1 million in damages, reports the New York Post. "The defendant was negligent . . . in allowing a clear, see-through glass wall and/or door to exist without proper warning," says the suit.

But according to Ms. Paswall's attorney, Derek T. Smith, Apple's real crime is ageism.

“My client is an octogenarian. She sees well, but she did not see any glass.”

“The stereotypical Apple customer is a Gen-Y person or a teenager or a college student, but they have to realize that the elderly generation are their customers, too,” he added.

Good point, guy. Wonder how much my mom can get for the hours she wasted grappling with her first Apple laptop in 2010. I still have the evidence under a Gmail thread, subject line, "how do I turn the Mac on?"
