That New Kickstarter for Porn Makes Us Realize Other Startups Should Have a Porn Version

First things first, there is now a Kickstarter for porn. If you don't know, now you know. It is called Offbeater, which is both a play on "offbeat" and also reminds you of masturbating--playful and topical! It's also an excellent idea, obviously. Why should creative, artsy types and Apple accessories-makers have the monopoly on crowdfunding? Disruption knows no bounds, or ball gags.

The landing page for the site has an unexpectedly SFW [safe for work] layout and functions very much-like Kickstarter. "Offbeatr empowers content creators to turn their adult project ideas into reality by allowing everyday people to support them." The adult industry press reports that Offbeatr was created by Extra Lunch Money, a marketplace that lets you "buy and sell custom and pre-made adult content and experiences," which sort of sounds like a Craigslist for porn, in other words . . . Craigslist.

The whole thing got us thinking, what other white hot startups should get a porn-y copycat? And what might that look like?

Tumblr for Porn: Again, sorry, this is basically just Tumblr.

Pinterest for Porn: But what would the Mormons say??

Turntable.fm for Porn: Avatar DJs spining samples of your favorite DMCA-approved porn!

Chomp for Porn: A search engine that finds you apps that help take your love of pornography mobile.

Instapaper for Porn: Oh look, someone was kind enough to give up their seat . . . and move to the next subway car.

Facebook for Porn: No actual face needed in your profile pic, if you know what we mean (we mean your junk).
