Seeya, Stanford. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out
So as you’ve probably heard by now, the big news recently was that West Coast Ivy League heavyweight Stanford, which had pretty much been the front-runner for the city’s proposed new applied sciences and engineering campus, had suddenly bowed out. Shocking? Well, a little bit. But to be honest, the whole Stanford coming to NYC thing had always smacked a bit too much of the Kardashian reality theater to me, what with all the press releases and tumbling and public schmoozing with the mayor’s office or as Betabeater Adrianne likes to call it, “the lovey dovey intercoastal necking.” And apparently the Stanford student body didn’t seem too happy about it either. Well I guess now that the brief but exciting dalliance is over and Cornell has been anointed the new front-runner, we can all go back to doing what we do best–the endlessly entertaining East Coast / West Coast, Alley vs. Valley trash talking. But this time… it’s personal. ;)
And now lets see where da local technorati be pa-pa-partying the week before Christmas…
