Ever since The Observer published its lists of media bachelors and bachelorettes, we’ve been inundated with requests to host some kind of a mixer with the hopes that a few drinks will catapult free agents into the vaunted slideshow ranks of media power couples. But the tech world isn’t one for waiting around to see what happens IRL.
Behold, the ‘Media Power Coupler‘ app from the mischievious mind of GroupMe’s Matt Langer. The site randomly plucks a bachelor and a bachelorette and takes it to its logical conclusion: The New York Times Vows column. Luckily, the text mash-up ends up being complete gibberish, so there’s none of the usual bile that accumulates after reading about a bridegroom’s pedigree or the cuckolded spouses left in their wake.
Anderson Cooper and Doree Shafrir? Hmm, might want to hit refresh on that one, Langer.
